Single-channel site-specific sound installation with 6 A3 text posters in Spanish
I have seen Fellini’s 8 ½ (1963) many times and two episodes from the film always capture my imagination: the opening dream scene with the protagonist, Guido, flying in the sky, and then an escape to a haunting place with an actress he’s casting for his film. Both have the sound of howling wind that changes the mood of the scenes entirely. For this installation I extracted these sounds as well some phrases from the dialogues between Guido and other characters.
The work has been presented in Madrid, Spain, during the 2nd international conference Sound and Audiovisual Spaces: Sensory and Active Experimentation at Universidad Autonóma de Madrid (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras), 02-05 December 2014.
